On the Farm
2nd Annual Fireman's Recognition Day!It's been awhile - since the last time I wrote, my beautiful baby Marshall was born and I've been pretty busy...
it's time to get back into the swing of things.
Next week, (6/20/09) we are inviting the public to the market to recognize our volunteer Firefighters.
Last year's event was a HUGE success! Everyone attending seemed to have a great time.
This year will be just as fun with a Chicken BBQ, Fireman's competitions, (always a riot!), pie-eating contest, emergency vehicle displays, bubbles and games for kids, live music and fireworks! New this year - a dunking booth! Pretty classic, if you ask me... hmmm... I don't think I've ever dunked anyone before...maybe I'll have to try!
All of these things and more...fun for everyone - I can't wait!
I hope this year will be packed with people out to support those who give their time and energy to those in need. It will be a great time for kids and adults alike!
Hope to see tons of folks there!
OH - I should also mention that it's strawberry season! (Finally! It was a long winter...) Come to the market for fresh picked berries or head out to the orchard to pick your own! We've been out to pick a few times and I just have to say that there's NOTHING like a sun-warmed strawberry freshly picked from the plant! Nothing.
It's time to stock up for next winter - making jam and freezing as many as you can!
Yummy.
Have a great week!
